As we are living in the world where plastic has become a part of a person’s everyday life, which is a harmful thing for the environment, even the people are aware of this but can not control the overuse of single-use plastics.
Now, here comes Eco Kaari, a sustainable brand that came up with an innovative idea to upcycle the single-use plastic waste. Founded in 2020 by Nandan Bhat, this Pune-based social enterprise has transformed discarded plastic waste into handcrafted, eco-friendly products.

Waste Turned into Fashion
The brand’s journey start by collecting the single-use plastic such as chip wrappers, grocery bags, gift wrappers, etc.… These materials undergo various processes such as washing, sanitization, sun-drying, and sorting by color and type. The cleaned plastic is then spun into yarn using traditional wooden spindles (charkhas) and woven into fabric on handlooms. This manual process not only reduces electricity consumption but also minimizes carbon emissions, aligning with Eco Kaari’s commitment to 100% sustainability.
